Life has been full of distractions recently. That, or I'm easily distracted. Perhaps both. Knowing that I'd been falling behind on a variety of projects, I decided to push back and put down a few words. I just didn't realize how few they would be.

My most recent entry is 229 words. Pathetic, but it's late and it sure beats the heck out of not publishing anything. There's no way I'm going to throw in the towel on this project. I just need to do a better job juggling my time. Apparently I had enough time to watch the entire Redskins vs. Giants game, but not enough to put together a decent sized post.

Priorities, priorities. I can do better than this.

I will do better than this!

I just added a new entry (#22) and queued up another for tomorrow (#23). This is now everything that I've written to date. Finally I can start writing new chapters. Finally!

It's the first day of December and I'm on a roll. I just published entry #16 on the blog and queued up #17-21 for tomorrow and beyond. So far, so good, and there are still thousands of words to get out the door. I can't wait to get over this hump and start pushing the story forward again.

Everything written thus far has been done using my old approach. On Thanksgiving, I discovered the formula and system that I want to use for all future works. The forthcoming adventures promise to be exciting white knuckle affairs that will keep you on the edge of your seat, not this slog that I'm currently wading through.

Still, it's interesting and will provide a good contrast to what's just around the corner.

The most exciting aspect about all this is that I'm writing and publishing again. I want to write stories that span thousands of pages with hundreds of characters that live and breathe and bleed and that we cry for when they die. "This is pulp fiction at its finest," I hope someone will say about my work one day.

Chaos is on its way.

Wow, it's been over a month since I last posted to this blog. Personally I find that unacceptable and know that I'm capable of doing so much more. I have a bunch more content to post--a couple thousand words at least--and need to put it up so that I can move forward.

Diary of the Undead hasn't been forgotten, it's just been on hold while I figured out what I was doing and how to improve my process so that I'm more consistent and hit my mark every time.

I hope you've been enjoying the ride thus far. It gets a lot rockier from here on out...

Diary of the Undead, the latest story in the Netherstream universe, is being published here a little at a time. I plan to post every chapter and tie it in with Episode 1: Jane Doe. Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about Valis or the inspiration behind her, but I felt that I needed to do something to reboot the series.

Netherstream: Diary of the Undead will be published as a full novel and will not be released serially except on this website. The storyline with Valis will continue for many more episodes, at least eight in all.

Plenty more mayhem is in store. Be careful what you wish for!
